We love the hotel with the dual baths in every room. The weather was great.
But there's a lot not to like. The slots are tighter then a bulls ass at fly time!
The restaurants are the mostly the pits. The steak house is way over priced. The family restaurant is in the basement but isn't open that much. Then there is the food court. No comment. The best food we found was next door at the Bar and Grill, it was great. I'm platinum and get comped 1 free improve ticket, I had the nerve to go to the Concourse lounge to see if I could get one more ticket 25$ worth to a show that is never even half full,
we used to get 2. She said no but she could charge it to my room. I said no thank you. We'll find some thing else to do. I tried going to the steak house at Harveys the sage, they weren't open eather. they do have a pizza house or a hardrock restaurant where we have tried before. Oh Plus there is no Keno in Tahoe, they moved the supervisor to Reno. I could go on and on.
but i'm done for to night. Ended up at the CVI, should of started there! they are a great place to stay. and no Resort Fee! Lots of great Resaurants! |

I stayed at Harvey's several years ago just after Harrah's bought them. Do they still own Harvey's and how does that measure up, today? |

Tsk! Clearly, one goes to Tahoe for a *taste* of the action, but it's clearly more for, you know, healthy outdoors-y activities...I'll be putting Tahoe lower on my personal priority list, that's for sure! |

I have to agree with most everything you point out. When I went to Harvey's and Harrah's last Tuesday I had a $15 coupon for dining which I wanted to use for dinner. I had a hard time trying to figure out where to use it. Most places that would take it were closed. So, I used it at Cabo Wabo in the Harvey's basement. Wow, has their food gone downhill. Plus it was barely open. The only point of the restaurant open was the lobby area.
One thing in their favor is they do offer some full play video poker and since that is what I enjoy I give them a thumbs up on that issue.
I get "free" room offers even though I am the lowest level- Gold, I hate to stay there as the gouge me for the resort fees.
When you say the Bar and Grill, I think you are talking about the Lucky Beaver where the old Bill's casino was located. The food is very good.
The video poker at the bar has bad paytables, but the burgers are really good. |
