VIRGINIA CITY

A Trip Into The Past

Virginia City, Nevada is just a short drive from Reno and is well worth the trip if you're interested in history or just having a good time. The town is well maintained and has been restored to look pretty much like it did during the gold and silver rush days. If you're visiting and don't have access to a car, several tour companies offer day trips to Virginia City at a reasonable cost.

The small photos below are links to spots of interest in Virginia City and clicking on them will take you to a larger photo and some information about the building or area. The history of Virginia City is a wordy story I found in a rather interesting booklet and has been corrected and verified by a local historian. You can view the pictures randomly, or start with the first one and keep clicking the "forward" button for the next page.

Have fun and enjoy your tour.
